September 18, 2025. Working with my agent on revisions has been a transformative experience. She’s pushed me to explore new depths in my story, to refine my characters and tighten the plot. It’s a collaborative process, and her insights are helping me see my work through a new lens.
At times, the revisions have been challenging. Letting go of certain scenes or rewriting significant parts of the narrative isn’t easy. But I’ve learned to trust her expertise and to see these changes as opportunities to strengthen the story. It’s a humbling experience, realizing how much my work can grow with the right guidance.
I’m also discovering the balance between staying true to my vision and being open to external input. There’s a delicate line between maintaining the core essence of the story and being flexible enough to embrace changes that enhance it. Navigating this balance is teaching me a lot about myself as a writer.
Each revised draft brings me closer to the story I’ve always wanted to tell. The characters feel more alive, their motivations clearer, and the plot more engaging. It’s a process of constant refinement, and with each pass, I see the novel evolving into something stronger.
This phase is also teaching me about the importance of patience and dedication. Good writing takes time, and there’s no shortcut to crafting a compelling story. I’m learning to enjoy the process, to find satisfaction in the gradual improvements.
For now, I’m embracing the challenges of revision and looking forward to seeing where this journey leads next.
